As part of the second of the quarterly themes for Year of the Sea: ‘Coastal Capital and Communities’, from April to June the industry is celebrating Wales’ outstanding coastline and sharing stories and content focused on our capital city, coastal towns and colourful communities. At the end of May the spotlight will be on Cardiff when the prestigious Volvo Ocean Race fleet arrives in Cardiff Bay from its epic journey across the Atlantic. In celebration, Cardiff Bay will host a two-week event from 27 May to 10 June 2018. As the weather improves and the Summer buzz in Wales’ coastal communities begins to build, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in our beautiful local coastal communities, harbour towns and marinas. From dolphins and porpoises in Cardigan Bay, to curious seals spotted amongst our surfers and kayakers, to our flower covered coastal cliffs providing sanctuary to millions of nesting seabirds. You can share your coastal events and stories across social media on @visitwales or #findyourepic.
