Prime Minister’s Statement (16/12/2020)

The Prime Minister made a statement to parliament with a number of messages related to activity over the Christmas break.
The key points were:

• The current rules regarding Christmas travel will not change
• The Government want people to rethink their Xmas plans around the message that “a smaller Christmas is going to be a safer Christmas, and a shorter Christmas is a safer Christmas”.
• Don’t travel from a high prevalence to a low prevalence area and avoid staying away from home overnight if you can.
• No one should be gathering in large groups to see in the New Year
