Petitions Committee: Request to 'Agree 105 day occupancy, not 182 days, to distinguish holiday let businesses from second homes'

The Committee reconsidered the petition in light of further correspondence received and agreed to write back to the Minister to ask what arrangements are in place to support self-catering businesses who will be unable to meet the occupancy level due to lack of demand, in particular during the next year or two and if statistics show a sharp decline in self-catering properties, whether the Welsh Government revisit the occupancy rates and consider reviewing them.

An increase from 70 days to 182 a year is totally unreasonable. Tourism is going to be affected drastically in Wales as people are selling up holiday lets many of which are overpriced for first time buyers.As tourism
and agriculture are the main economy in Pembrokeshire one cannot survive without the other can’t the government see that local businesses rely on tourism and people rely on tourism for their employment. The Welsh government are hell bent on scuppering tourism throughout Wales
How can the Welsh people prevent Mark Drakeford
from enforcing these rediculous new qualifying criteria . What the hell is he trying to do to the Welsh economy which will ultimately increase unemployment. Please will all the assembly members make the first minister aware of how his new criteria will affect Wales I’m sure you must have your concerns.
