Caerphilly, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Merthyr Tydfil, Newport......local lockdown means people are not allowed to enter or leave the area without reasonable excuse, which does not include going on holiday. If they are already away, the Welsh Government does not require residents of these areas to curtail their holidays. However people who left the area ‘’shortly before restrictions were put in place should be aware they pose a higher risk of transmitting the virus, and so ideally they should return home as soon as possible’.
The lockdowns in England do not impact on the ability of a household to go on holiday, so long as they don’t mix with other households: ‘You can still go on holiday outside of the affected areas, but you should only do this with people you live with (or have formed a support bubble with).’ See: · Birmingham, Sandwell and Solihull · Blackburn with Darwen, Oldham, Pendle · Bolton · Leicester · North (Greater Manchester, East Lancashire, Preston, and West Yorkshire) · North East (Northumberland, North Tyneside, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Gateshead, South Tyneside, Sunderland and County Durham) In Scotland, the restrictions apply to ‘social visits inside houses’ and allow people to ‘use self-catering accommodation in unaffected areas with your household group, but not with different household groups’ in: · East Dunbartonshire · East Renfrewshire · Glasgow City · North Lanarkshire · Renfrewshire · South Lanarkshire · West Dunbartonshire In Northern Ireland, the NI Executive is asking people to ‘avoid unnecessary travel outside the restricted areas’: · Belfast City Council area · Postcode area BT28 · Postcode area BT29 · The town of Ballymena and postcode area BT43
