Assembly Members were voting on Tuesday afternoon (4th) to confirm the Welsh government's £15.1bn budget for the next financial year after the minority Labour administration struck a deal with Plaid Cymru- but there was no clear budget line for Tourism at this stage.
The deal with Plaid sets aside an extra £20m to spend on apprenticeships for 16-24-year-olds next year and the following year and also includes £10m of capital spending from government reserves over two years for a science park involving Bangor and Aberystwyth universities.
Tourism currently sits in a wide... Read More

Currently there are many organisations in Wales that are looking to take actions which make clear business sense, and which will also reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prepare for the unavoidable impacts of climate change.
The Welsh Government has produced a bilingual business case template to short cut this waste of effort. The document enables organisations to produce a robust business case using the Treasury approved five case model, and sector specific guidance.

The UK and other western economies are going through a prolonged period of
structural adjustment and relatively low growth and volatility is likely to persist
through the mid-2010s. Against this disappointing backdrop,
the London hotel market has demonstrated remarkable resilience.
RevPAR dipped by 5% in 2009, but has since rebounded by 25% to reach a
record high. This has been helped by one-off events such as the Jubilee and
Olympics, but it also reveals a more fundamental strength: that London’s
status as one of the leading global cities means it can attract people from all
around the world,... Read More
